ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Chase Edmonds (shoulder) is expected to play in Week 5 against the 49ers.
Edmonds didn't practice all week while nursing the shoulder issue. The shifty runner has averaged 5.5 targets and 10.8 carries per game this year. His only shortcoming is a lack of goal-line work, which goes to James Conner. Despite the lack of scoring opportunities, Edmonds' role as a pass-catcher makes him a solid RB2 option versus the 49ers. Conner is nothing more than a touchdown-or-bust RB3, even after finding the end zone twice in consecutive weeks.
