RB: Jordan Howard

The Athletic's Zach Berman said Jordan Howard could be activated from the Eagles' practice squad and play in Week 8 against the Lions.

With Miles Sanders (ankle) considered a long shot to suit up this week, Berman believes Howard will make the team's game day roster and could get some carries against Detroit. "I don’t think they’ll rely entirely on the Kenny Gainwell-Boston Scott combination in Sanders’ absence," Berman said. "They’ll look for more between-the-tackles runs from Howard — if they run the ball, that is." Howard holds zero fantasy appeal, but could eat into Boston Scott's early-down role -- and potential goal line role -- with Sanders sidelined. The Eagles, despite head coach Nick Sirriani's weekly chatter about establishing the run, have the league's 11th highest pass rate over expectation. Kenneth Gainwell, who commanded eight targets last week, will maintain his hold on pass-catching duties in Sanders' absence.
