ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Joe Mixon has a "low-grade" ankle sprain.
Mixon is considered "week to week," per Schefter. Mixon -- who ceded snaps to Samaje Perine in Week 4 after tweaking the ankle -- missed ten games last season with a foot injury that was first described as a week to week issue. Bengals fans and fantasy managers better hope this isn't a similar situation. Mixon had dominated backfield snaps over the season's first few weeks, delivering on the promise of a true three-down back. Perine would presumably slot in as the Bengals' primary rusher should Mixon miss any time; he should be rostered in all 12-team leagues this week. Perine would be a mid-range RB2 against the Packers in Week 5 if Mixon is sidelined. SOURCE: Adam Schefter on Twitter Oct 4, 2021, 11:09 AM ET
