SNY's Ralph Vacchiano said it "sounds like" Sterling Shepard (hamstring) suffered a setback on Thursday.
Shepard, who has a fraught history with soft tissue injuries and missed two games this season with the hamstring issue, was limited during Thursday's practice and could be on the wrong side of questionable entering Week 7 against the Panthers. Shepard was set to resume his target hog role in the Giants offense with Kadarius Toney (ankle) sidelined this week. Shepard saw 14 targets in last week's blowout loss to the Rams. Darius Slayton, fighting his own hamstring issues, could be the team's No. 1 wideout if Shepard is sidelined.
